Medusa
Medusa was a creature from Greek myth that could turn a person to stone merely by gazing at them. She was eventually slain by Perseus, who used a mirror-backed shield to avoid looking at her. There are several different depictions of Medusa. I have given her hair composed of snakes, and a lower body composed of a long, scaled, snake-like tail.
